We have had such an amazing time!!! We were able to go to do three children’s events in Lavalle (native reserve of Mendoza). We have had a wonderful time working with the community of Huarpes (indigenous tribe). With clown shows, Bible stories, games, songs. We handed out presents and shared chocolate milk and cookies. Every year in August, Argentina celebrates the National Children’s Day. A day every child in the country looks forward too! We take those days as an opportunity to share the gospel with the children and their families.
The staff of the base had been divided into different teams. The reason was because we got so many invitations to organize children’s events. We had teams working in the community centre in the neighborhood, other teams went to different churches, others to other neighborhoods and our team went to the Huarpe community. We loved to see how the faces of the children lit up during the program. Smiles and laughter! They had a great time, also jumping around on the air inflated jumping castle! Meanwhile we prayed for them, blessed them with Gods presence, which is so much needed in each of their lives!
We also had the privilege to go visit a family living very far away from civilization. No electricity, a small cattle of goats, no running water, a little house made out of mud and straw, sons and daughters who are not going to school. The oldest girl of six years old goes out every day to pastor the goats of the family.
The hardest part was not only their living conditions, but mainly to see so much sadness in their eyes. We went to bring Gods love and mercy to them, we enjoyed a good quality time and we saw how we can help them in a practical way. They have so much need of God’s love and purpose in their lives. Tuvimos un tiempo tan hermoso este fin de semana!! Pudimos ir a realizar tres eventos de niños con la comunidad de los Huarpes en el desierto de Lavalle, Mendoza. Con un obras de teatro, payasos, historias Bíblicas, juegos y canciones! Les entregamos regalitos y compartimos un rico chocolatada con ellos! Cada año en Agosto, Argentina celebra el Día de Niño. Un día en el cual cada niño en el país está esperando con mucha emoción. Aprovechamos este día para poder bendecir a cada niño y su familia y compartir el evangelio de Jesús para con ellos.
El personal de la base fue dividido en diferentes grupos. El motivo por el cual hicimos eso es porque tuvimos muchas invitaciones para organizar el Día de Niño en varios lugares. Tuvimos equipos trabajando en el Centro comunitario en el barrio donde vivimos, otros equipos fueron a diferentes iglesias, otros a diferentes sitios de la ciudad de Mendoza y nuestro equipo salió para bendecir las familias de la comunidad de los Huarpes. Disfrutamos mucho ver sus caritas llenas de gozo y escuchar sus risas por todo lugar. Tuvieron un tiempo de mucha alegría, aun mas con el pelotero que hemos traído! En el mismo tiempo oramos mucho por cada uno de ellos, bendiciéndoles con el amor del Señor!
También tuvimos el privilegio de ir a visitar una familia que vive muy lejos de la sociedad. No tienen electricidad, ni agua potable y un corral muy pequeño. Los 4 hijos no van a la escuela, y la mayor de seis añitos sale cada día para pastorear las cabras. Además de ver sus condiciones de vivir nos toco mucho ver tanta tristeza reflejada en sus caras. Fuimos para compartir el amor y la misericordia de Dios para con ellos. Tener un tiempo de calidad y animándoles. Además estamos viendo cómo ayudarles en una manera práctica. Hay mucha necesidad del amor y propósito de Dios en sus vidas. Oremos por ellos!
