Terminamos con Semana Diferente 2015! Nuestros compañeros de Divulgalo han hecho una nota acerca de esta semana y les dejamos con esta! La nota original.
"Es precisamente en la tierra del buen sol y del buen vino donde la voz de Dios guió a los jucumeros, tiempo atrás, a establecer la primera comunidad misionera del país y en donde hoy sigue sorprendiendo en gran manera a propios y extraños.
En realidad para el staff de Mendoza, la Semana Diferente arranca mucho antes de la inauguración del evento, largas jornadas bajo el sol intenso hacen de la realización del mismo, algo mucho más especial, pasado esto viene el recibimiento e inauguración, seguido del agotador cronograma que termina recién cuando la comunidad Huarpe parte de vuelta a casa.
El último día, en medio de una vorágine de emociones se pudo realizar una especie de spa para las mujeres para cerrar más tarde con una clásica cena de navidad y un musical acerca de la verdadera razón de navidad, sumada a la entrega de regalos por parte de iglesias locales.
Si alguna vez pensaste en querer transformar al mundo de alguna manera pero te quedaste sin ideas al respecto, te animo a participar de las siguientes actividades en conjunto con la comunidad misionera de Mendoza y aportar tu granito de arena a esta Gran Comisión que está por cumplir 2016 años de trayectoria."

Una de estas bendiciones para con la comunidad y la provincia es la conocida “Semana Diferente”, usualmente llevada a cabo en estas fechas en El Borbollón, constando de cinco días a cronograma lleno de actividades “diferentes”, valga la redundancia, para la comunidad Huarpe ubicada mayormente en la región desértica de Lavalle, en la cual participan todos los miembros de la comunidad misionera en conjunto con voluntarios de iglesias locales, logrando así un plan completo de logística frente a este desafiante proyecto. También se incorporó un equipo de voluntarios de varios iglesias de Puerto Rico para ayudar durante esta semana.

“Semana Diferente este año fue espectacular. La verdad que fue un evento muy lindo para cerrar el año, un tiempo exacto en el que el Señor quería trabajar en nuestras vidas y en las de las personas del campo. Puntualmente lo veo como un tiempo ideado y pactado por Dios para las personas que vinieron, ya que cada uno de ellos tuvo una historia particular diferente para venir, yo creo que el Señor ya tenía planeado que así fuera. Fue un tiempo muy lindo donde pudieron recibir mucho, pudieron abrirse más y nosotros como misión pudimos ministrarlos y atenderlos más libremente que en años anteriores. Hubo un número inferior de gente, lo cual permitió un acercamiento mayor con cada uno de ellos. La verdad que fue una bendición poder hacerla, ver todas las puertas que se abrieron, todas las donaciones, cada actividad fuera de la base, la bendición que vimos realmente nos confirmó un tiempo de refresco para la gente del campo. Y bueno se podría seguir trabajando en varias cositas para las semanas diferentes que vienen, cositas básicas como la organización en tiempos de prédicas, a algunos les cuesta todavía sentarse a escuchar una predica, pero también es cuestión de tiempo. Repito fue una semana espectacular” nos comentaba alguien que sabe mucho del tema y lo expresa día a día con sus acciones como lo es Duilio Díaz, voluntario de JUCUM Mendoza, descendiente también de la comunidad huarpe.
Aunque se venga realizando desde hace un tiempo, no deja de tener su particularidad cada vez que pasa, y sin duda éste no fue la excepción. Entre otras cosas la comunidad Huarpe pudo disfrutar en los primeros días de tiempos de pileta, fútbol, tirolesa, así como también de distintos talleres sobre prevención de abuso sexual, sanidad interior y evangelismo.
Los siguientes días en cambio, se compusieron principalmente de actividades fuera de la comunidad tales como karting, cine, pesca, y un poco de relax en termas de montaña. A la noche se aprovechó el talento presente brindando shows sobre free-style rap, hip-hop, música en vivo, monociclo y las tan ansiadas clases de baile.
El último día, en medio de una vorágine de emociones se pudo realizar una especie de spa para las mujeres para cerrar más tarde con una clásica cena de navidad y un musical acerca de la verdadera razón de navidad, sumada a la entrega de regalos por parte de iglesias locales.

We finished Different Week 2015! Our colleagues from Divulgalo wrote an article and below you can find the translation.
"It is in the lands of sun and good wines where God´s voice led some YWAM-ers, some 13 years back, to start the first missionary community of the country and where today they keep on surprising in great way the locals and foreigners.
One of these blessings for the community and the province in the known "Semana Diferente" (Different Week), normally held during the last weeks of the year, consisting of 5 days of "different" activities for the Huarpe community, the native community located in the desert area of Lavalle, in which all the members of the missionary community and volunteers from local churches participate and take on this challenging project. As well a team of volunteers from various churches in Puerto Rico participated during this week.
For the staff members of YWAM Mendoza, the Semana Diferente starts much earlier than the actual start of the event with long days under the scorching sun with all the preparations. Followed by the intense week until the Huarpe community leaves for home again.
"This year Semana Diferente was spectacular. It was a great way of closing off the year. The exact time in which the Lord wanted to work in our lives and in those from the desert. Personally I see it as a time set apart by God for the people that came, each one with their own personal history, and that God had planned it this way. It was a great time in which they could receive a lot, open up and we as a mission were able to minister to them and attend them in a freer way than other years. There was a smaller number of people attending and that helped us to have a closer communication with them. It was a blessing to organise this Semana Diferente, see all the doors that were openend, all the donations, every activity we could do outside the base....the blessing that we saw really confirmed this refreshing time for the people of the desert. And we can keep on working on some things for next Semana Diferente like the devotional times. For some it is difficult to sit still, but thats also a question of time. I repeat, it was a spectacular week." This tells us Duilio Diaz, someone who knows a lot about the topic being a volunteer at YWAM Mendoza and descendant of the Huarpe community.
Even though Different Week has been organised for several years now, every year has it´s special activities and this year was no difference. In the first days the community was able to enjoy the pool, soccer, ropes course and workshops on sexual abuse, inner healing and evangelism.
The following days there were several activities outside of the community like karting, to the cinema, fishing and a relaxing time for the women in a spa in the mountains. In the evenings there were events with freestyle rap, hip hop, live music, dance classes, bmx and monocycle demonstrations.
The last day a spa for the women was organised and the day closed of by the classical Christmas dinner with a musical about the real reason of Christmas, followed by the handing out of gifts prepared in cooperation with local churches.
If you ever thought about wanting to transform the world in some way but you have no idea how to start, I encourage you to participate in Semana Diferente at YWAM Mendoza and add your grain of sand to this Great Commission.
