Hola Mendoza!

Llego la primavera...y llego con mucho amor en el aire! Han sido unas semanas intensas en la base de Mendoza mientras planeamos, preparamos y celebramos dos bodas! Dos parejas Jucumeras de nuestra base se casaron. Las dos parejas son parejas transculturales...algo que es muy comun en nuestra base! Todos los casados de nuestra base son transculturales. Primero se casaron Yanil(de Argentina) y Simon(de Inglaterra) y la semana despues se casaron Ruth (de Holanda) y Dario (de Argentina). Las dos bodas y fiestas fueron hermosas y reflejo los estilos de las parejas. Aqui hay fotos de los dos dias.... Spring has arrived...and it arrived with lots of love in the air. These past couple of weeks have been intense as we have been planning, preparing and celebrating two weddings! Two YWAM couples from our YWAM base were married. Both of them are transcultural couples...something that is a bit of the norm around here. All of the married couples on our base are transcultural matches. Ya...

En nuestro barrio, El Borbollon, hicimos un taller sobre violencia y prevencion y en otras partes de nuestra ciudad pusimos mesas de oracion en plazas. Las actividades fueron de mucho exito y dio comienzo oficial al ministerio El Grito del Silencio. Este proyecto, o ministerio, nacio en el corazon de Dios y atravez de la vida de Olga Rojas. Spring is here...and with it...a couple of weddings! This past weekend Simon and Yanil tied the knot and this coming week Dario and Ruth will take their vows of matrimony! Both weddings are hosted by the YWAM base, so as a family, we have been working hard to prepare all the details for both ceremonies and receptions. It is an exciting time of celebrating love, family and God's goodness. This week we through a sort of joint bachelorette party for the Yanil and Ruth. After the conference in Buenos Aires, we sent a team to Rosario...Team Impact. The team is traveling around Rosario and Santa Fe, Argentina sharing, encouraging and challenging the church. They have been giving workshops, chats about missions, doing evangelism impacts and sharing in church services. They've also had the exciting opportunity to serve and help out with Carlos Anacondia's Evangelistic Campaign. They have seen God's supernatural power in healing miracles and seeing people set free during the weekend campaign. This weekend they are heading to Santa Fe to continue on with the Impact! It has been really busy these last couple of weeks. October came and went in a flash! In mid-October we received Pastor Daniel from Dharmapuri, India. After almost a year long process of getting all the necessary papers in line for his visa we were thrilled to finally have him with us in Mendoza. Our base directors first met Pastor Daniel several years ago during an outreach to India. Since then our base and our director's local church have been offering support to the Girls Home that Pastor Daniel and his wife run in Dharmapuri. Pastor Daniel spent two solid weeks with us in Mendoza speaking at dozens of churches and meetings. He literally prayed for each person in each place where he preached! Later he accompanied us to Buenos Aires for our 50th Anniversary celebration and national conference. It was such a privilege to have him present with us! What a busy weekend it has been! Friday night we kicked it off with another Coffee Night: selling delicious desserts, a garage sale and obviously having a great time laughing about all the funny videos that were made. Thanks to all of you who joined us this evening, we had a blast! Saturday evening we took off with the Arts ministry to celebrate the International Day of Youth with Christian Values, an initiative of the organisation "OneWorld". Some of us went to San Martin where we presented dramas in Pastor Corvelo´s church and others went to the central square in Rivadavia. There we presented some dramas and performed with the drum line until midnight, when we officially declared the Day (10-10-10). And as a surprise Sabrina spat fire! Sunday the students and staff of the Sports DTS went for a hike in the hills, organised to raise awareness for cancer patients. The students came back tired but satisfied with great and enthusiastic reports! Great job guys! Que fin de semana ...

This past weekend the Baptist Church of Godoy Cruz, or the ¨City´s Church,¨ inaugurated their new worship space in the city center of Mendoza. The new space will be a tremendous blessing as the church works to reach out to people in the heart of Mendoza. The church hopes to reach out to businesses, politicians, families and youth and to mark a difference in the city. We were also blessed with visits from our national director, Alejandro Rodriguez, and from Pastor Nelson, pastor of Martin and Nayda´s church in Puerto Rico. Both men blessed and ministered to our staff and students tremendously during their stay. It is always such a privilege and treat to have our leaders visit and spend time with us!
